Great Taste Award
Great Taste, organised by the Guild of Fine Food, is the acknowledged benchmark for speciality food and drink. It has been described as the ‘Oscars’ of the food world and the ‘epicurean equivalent of the Booker prize’. Quite simply the Great Taste logo is the sign you can trust when buying food and drink in your local, quality retailer.
Over 400 judges, including 40 specially trained food writers inputting judges’ comments, come together at 50 judging days each year. The judges, from all corners of the food world, blind-taste in small teams , only 34% of entries are accredited.
In 2015 Dizzy Bee Grain Free Paleo received a two star award.
Judges comments were ‘Looks really attractive – good mix of colourful nuts and seeds in big chunks. Really fresh nuts and seeds in the right proportions, lovely flavours, a great start to the day.
‘There’s great flavour and texture to this granola-like product. The nut quantity is very generous, there is a well balanced sweetness from the honey and a wholesome coconut presence throughout. Good clusters and a nice toasted element. Excellent product.’
‘Attractive looking, golden baked granola with a good balance of fruit and seeds. Very good flavours, not too sweet, and an enjoyable crunchy texture.’
‘A very good mixture, both in terms of flavours and appearance. Very good flavour overall, the sweetness is very well judged, a small amount of well judged cinnamon adds the depth. The flavours of all the nuts and seeds come through excellently.
If you like a finely textured granola this is fine indeed.’
