Organic Walnuts, Chia, Hulled Hemp and Golden Organic Flaxseed are all great plant based forms of Omega Three EFA
Omega Three fatty acids are essential nutrients that are important for maintaining optimal health in many ways , and are anti inflammatory.
The fibre from the oats and proteins in the nuts and seeds make this a very filling and satisfying start to the day.
Golden organic Flaxseed is added in both milled and whole seed form. milling the flax means it is easier digested, some are added whole for texture.
You can add grated apple or berries, bananas , nut butter, and spices such as cinnamon or nutmeg
Add 40g dry mix to 120g/ml of ‘wet’ mix- this can be solely yoghurt or milk , keffir , fruit juice or a combination- apple juice and yoghurt is very popular.
You can use any type of yoghurt or milk there are so many great options . If you are looking to maximise gut health you could add a spoon of chicory root fibre( inulin) at this stage.
if you are eating this post training you could add some protein powder to really max up the protein levels ( its already pretty good!)
Once mixed you can cover it and place in the fridge overnight. At this stage I add frozen fruits.
A.M – A healthy breakfast is ready, I usually drizzle a little honey or chicory syrup and slice some banana or kiwi. If I’m particularly hungry I add a spoon of peanut or almond butter.
Ps If I forget to make this the night before it really is just as lovely made 5 minutes before-… just mix the wet ingredients in till you get the consistency you would like.
